Week 2, Term 4
Kia ora koutou,
I hope everyone had a great weekend. Shame about the rain today!
First thing to mention for this week is hats 🤠. It will be compulsory to wear our hats for all outdoor activities from this week.
We have had confirmation for our trip to Kaipara Garden Centre and Sculpture Gardens and a letter went home about this last week. Please let me know if you need another copy for the details. I am very grateful to our parents who have volunteered so far but we still need more. Thanks for contacting me, if you can come.
This week, in class we will read about some animals who compare themselves to each other. We will focus on the language of comparison and try to use it in some opinion writing - the topic will be about native New Zealand animals and linked to our inquiry topic of 'Sustainability'.
Last week, thinking about summer, we read a book called Tim's T'Shirts and designed our own. There is some wonderful artwork ready to go up - keep an eye out for it.
Have a great week.
See you tomorrow,
PS Passion Friday!! This starts this week. Please go onto the Peaches and Pickles website to sign up for any of their options.
Your children have already signed up for a VLC Passion Friday option. Their choices are:
Craft making with Baylee
Japanese with me
Puzzles with Mrs Franks
Beach inspired art with Mrs Sharman and Mrs Grove
Beginners Skateboarding with Mr Toghill (BYO skateboard and helmet)
There may be slight ability for movement before Friday but once we start there will be no swapping. We want to be able to give 7 hours tuition in one area.
PPS Trip details in short: Tuesday, November 14 and costs $18.50 - this is ONLY for pay as you go people. There is no additional cost otherwise.
