Week 9, Term 2

Hi everyone,

Our production rehearsals are gathering momentum now and we can sing all our songs without the words (almost, nearly!).

This week in maths, we have a particular focus on subtraction and will do more on equation writing - making sure we understand which symbol we use to express which operation and all the  different ways we can express mathematical operations. For example, 'subtraction' is also 'take away', 'minus', 'difference between' etc.

Our first marble jar team filled their jar last week and chose a treasure from the treasure box this afternoon. Three more teams are close!

Today we had a PE session on the bikes. We are all becoming much more efficient at this - getting helmets on and bikes out and back in. There has been a lot of improvement for our non-riders! Our next PE session this week will be on Friday morning when we combine with our vertical community to try lots of different ball sports.

The other big focuses for the week are our bubble books in writing and art for the calendars.

Finally, a reminder to check regularly for nits. They are much harder to get rid of compared to when we were kids - it's not your imagination!

Thanks also for your support in making sure your child is organised and ready for learning with their book bag and yellow book.  😁

Kind regards,
Nicola
