Kia ora everyone!

Mrs Diana Bassett is in charge today and tomorrow while I am at a conference for maths teaching.

Firstly, some exciting news - our baby budgie is now much more confident and ready to come to school. We had a big vote yesterday and his or her name is Lulu. The numbers were resounding. The other names voted on were Buster and Sprite.

My daughter has noticed s/he likes being read to 😊 That will be good for us!

On Friday, the day begins with the Powhiri. We have swimming after morning tea and then assembly in the afternoon till 3 pm.

Regarding reading, I am aware the readers going home are well within the comfort zone of many learners. This is going to gradually change over the next couple of weeks. Thanks for helping your child to build their reading mileage each night.

Reminders:

  • Book bag and take home book with reader in the back come to school everyday.
  • Please return blue poem folders on a Monday.
Have a great weekend!
Nicola
